Support
Green Claws is made and run by Zander Martineau. It is one person rather than a support department, which mostly works in your favour: write and you will get a reply from whoever wrote the thing you are asking about.

Getting in touch
info@greenclaws.app, for anything at all — a bug, a plant identified wrongly, a question about a subscription, or a feature you wish existed.
Expect a reply within a few days. If something is badly broken, say so in the subject line and it will jump the queue.
Three things make a bug report much faster to act on:
- What you expected and what happened instead. A screenshot is worth a paragraph.
- The app version, from Settings, at the bottom. It looks like
1.0 (12). - Your device and iOS version, from the iOS Settings app under General → About.
If the problem is in your own garden
Some things cannot be diagnosed from a description, because what is wrong is in your particular plants. Settings → Help → Share with support makes a link that lets me look at your garden read-only, and it exists only if you make one.
It shows your plants and photographs, your notes and where things grow, and whether your subscription is active — not your name, your email or where you garden. It expires after a week on its own, Stop sharing ends it immediately, and the same screen tells you how many times it has been opened. Nothing looked at through that link can be changed.
Only send one if it helps. Most reports are answered without it.
Things you can fix without writing in
A plant identified wrongly. Open the plant, tap Edit, then This isn’t the right plant. Type what you think it is and tap Look again — the hint genuinely helps. Identification is a best guess with a confidence figure attached, which is why nothing is ever filed under a name you did not confirm.
A plant in the wrong place. Indoor and outdoor are read from the photograph and are sometimes wrong. It is a one-tap correction on the card in Review, and it matters more than it looks: the setting filters the seasonal jobs, so a border job is never offered for the same species on a windowsill.
None of the three suggestions are right. Tap None of these in Review and describe the plant in your own words. It will have another go.
Watering advice that looks wrong. For anything growing outside, watering follows the rainfall where you are, so it needs a rough location — about 10km, never your address. If you declined the location permission, the watering feed is the only thing you lose. Indoor plants do not use rainfall at all.
The walkthrough. Settings → Help → Show the walkthrough again.
Subscriptions, billing and refunds
Apple handles every payment and every refund for Green Claws, so those requests go to Apple rather than to me — I cannot see your card, issue a refund, or cancel a subscription on your behalf.
- Cancel or change a subscription: Settings → Manage subscription, which opens Apple’s own sheet. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the period you have paid for running.
- Ask for a refund: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restore a purchase on a new device: sign in with the same Apple Account and it comes back on its own.
What each tier costs, and what happens if Pro lapses, is on the terms page.
Your plants and your data
- Get rid of everything but keep the account: Settings → Remove all plants.
- Delete the account: Settings → Delete account. There is a 30-day grace period, after which it is purged for real and cannot be recovered. Deleting also revokes Sign in with Apple, so the app disappears from the list in your Apple ID settings.
- Take a published garden down: the globe in the navigation bar, beside the settings gear. Turning publishing off ends it immediately.
- Stop a support link you shared: Settings → Help → Share with support → Stop sharing. It also expires on its own after a week.
- Ask what is held about you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted: privacy@greenclaws.app. The privacy page says what is stored and what is sent where.
A subscription belongs to Apple rather than to Green Claws, so deleting your account does not cancel one. Cancel it first.
Before you act on anything the app tells you
Care notes and toxicity information are drafted automatically and only some records have been checked by a person. The app tells you which. Never eat, brew, apply to skin, or give to an animal any plant on the strength of what this app says — treat it as a prompt to go and check, not a verdict.
If you think a person has been poisoned, ring 999 or contact NHS 111. If you think an animal has, ring your vet. Do not spend time in this app, and do not wait for an email back from me.
The full version of this is on the terms page, and it is the part of it worth reading.
